What's Happening in the World of Disney For September 2024

Welcome to our first look at the Month in the World of Disney. Each month, we’ll give you the information you need to plan for the month, whether going to a domestic Disney park, watching Disney+, or just looking to buy something at the Disney Store.
Walt Disney World:
September 2024 Events:
Park Hours - always check park hours before your trip. Ticket parties and even private special events can change the expected hours.
September 2nd - will be the last showing of “Disney Dreams That Soar,” the Disney Springs drone show.
Through Oct 31st at Magic Kingdom, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Parties will take place on select nights through October 31st, 2024. Many are already sold out.
Aug. 29th - Nov 23rd at EPCOT, the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be happening. Check the menus to see what yummy dishes there are this year.
From September 15 through October 15, 2024, Walt Disney World will celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month.
September 2024 Refurbishments:
No one likes it when their favorite ride is closed on vacation, but updates and fixes must happen. It's best to know before you go!
⛵︎ Jungle Cruise
Dates: Aug 26th — Oct 17th
Details: This attraction will close briefly for a scheduled refurbishment. It is likely getting ready for its transformation into the Jingle Cruise.
🚗 Test Track
Dates: June 17th — 2025
Details: Test Track presented by Chevrolet will close to get a new makeover. Call it Test Track 3.0. Details are sparse, but Disney gave some descriptions on their parks blog.
🏖️ Caribbean Beach - Barbados Leisure Pool
Dates: July 29th — Sept 2024
Details: The Barbados leisure pool will be closed. Guests can enjoy the Fuentes del Morro pool and four other leisure pools.
Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort
Dates: Sept 2024 — Sept 2025
Details: Beginning in September, the Bay Lake Tower would begin the first major refurbishment in its history.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort DVC Construction
Dates: Mar 1 — December 2024
Details: The Resort remains open, but areas adjacent to the resort are currently being renovated to include new Disney Vacation Club Villas, restaurants, and even new recreation offerings.
Port Orleans - French Quarter
Dates: May 2024 — Nov 2024
Details: Some guest rooms will be under refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.
Disneyland:

September 2024 Events:
From August 23 through November 2, 2024, Disneyland’s Frontierland will host Día de los Muertos.
From August 30 through November 1, 2024, you can participate in Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit.
Aug 25th - Oct 31st - Disney California Adventure will have the 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash. I hope you have your tickets already because they are all sold out!
August 18th - November 15th - Disney California Adventure will host the Plaza de la Familia Celebration.
September 20 to 22, 2024, Disneyland will host an Artist Showcase and Signing with Noah Elias. Times are 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. This showcase will be in Disneyana, right on Main Street, U.S.A.
September 2024 Disneyland Refurbishments:
Indiana Jones Adventure
Dates: Sept 9th — Sept 14th
Details: This attraction is closing for a brief refurbishment.
Critter Country Fruit Cart
Dates: July 8th — Late 2024
Details: Due to its location in Critter Country, the Critter Country Fruit Cart will temporarily close.
Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
Dates: July 8th — Late 2024
Details: Due to adjacent construction, Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes will temporarily close.
Hungry Bear Restaurant becoming the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree
Dates: July 8th — Late 2024
Details: Hungry Bear Restaurant will temporarily close for kitchen refurbishments. Disney released details on the new menu.
Splash Mountain transformation into Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Dates: May 31st —Nov. 15.
Disneyland Monorail
Dates: Aug 12th — TBA
Details: The Disneyland Monorail is closed and has no reopening date.
Disneyland Railroad
Dates: Aug. 5th — TBA
Details: Disneyland Railroad will close for a brief stint.
Space Mountain
Dates: Aug 5th — Sept 6th
Haunted Mansion
Dates: January 22nd — TBA
Details: Haunted Mansion ride is a virtual queue only while they work on the standby queue.
